Katahdin Gazetteer Raffle Party

We have a draft! The first draft of the Katahdin region's vision and action plan, Katahdin Gazetteer: A Roadmap to the Future, is starting to take shape.

On Wednesday, November 14, we will gather in Patten for a presentation of this first draft by Adam Burk & Co, the consulting team working with the Katahdin Gazetteer process. There will also be a party to celebrate everyone's hard work. The presentation will include highlights, bright spots for action, and common concerns. There will be interactive boards with maps, renderings of concepts to explore for development, and lists of ideas for everyone to mark up, add to, and comment on.

While gearing up for this first presentation, the Katahdin Gazetteer wants to extend a special invitation to those community members who have not yet shared their thoughts, ideas, and concerns. The regional vision action plan will be most successful if the largest, most diverse group of community members possible is present, participating, and providing feedback. As we move through the Gazetteer process, we need your feedback on what topics seem on target, what is still missing, and how we can improve.

“We hope you will join us and bring your ideas and concerns to help create the Katahdin Region vision and action plan together,” says Jasmine Folster, project coordinator for the Katahdin Gazetteer. “We are celebrating the hard work put in by everyone thus far. We'll have party food and a raffle for local prizes, gift certificates, and goods. We hope to see you there!”

For those who are unable to make it to the presentation on November 14, the presentation materials will be available to gather your feedback and reactions. Stay tuned for locations.

RAFFLE PARTY AND FIRST DRAFT PRESENTATION

529 South Patten Rd. Patten, Maine

The Katahdin Gazetteer, a year-long visioning process that launched in January 2018, is an initiative of the Katahdin Collaborative. The Collaborative, a regional platform for municipalities, community groups, businesses, clubs, and organizations, invites all Katahdin community members to participate in this locally-led creation of a vision and action plan for the Katahdin region. Community input gathered throughout the year in personal interviews, community events, surveys, and workshop sessions throughout the Katahdin region will be worked into an action plan for local implementation across the region. The final Katahdin Gazetteer plan will be ready for distribution in the spring of 2019.

For more information about the first draft presentation or the Katahdin Gazetteer process, please email Jasmine Folster, Project Coordinator.
